Monday 21 September from 1pm to 2pm

City of Sydney Library Lunchtime Conversations is a fortnightly series of free online talks with authors, artists and experts.

For this event, join Sydney-based artist, curator, writer and performer Cat Jones. Cat will be talking about her first project in a body of work around medicine and feminist futures, titled Medicament for Your Predicament. Hear about the inspiration behind this reflective, sensory workshop and her creative process. Cat will also share images captured during the work’s development and audience responses to the exhibitions in the UK, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Medicament for Your Predicament, draws together Cat’s unique sensory, botanic and social practices to create a collective pharmacy. The work considers the interconnectedness between politics, social behaviour and health alongside the rise and control of ‘big pharma’ in global, environmental, economic, health systems. As part of the work, participants are invited to share inter-generational cultural knowledge, begin conversations and create a chemical change with their own hands.
