Step into a living artwork at Taylor Square and watch light respond to your presence.

As people move through the space, colours shift and ripple across the installation, creating an ever-changing experience shaped by the crowd around you. Visitors can also pause to receive an oracle message, offering a moment of reflection amid the energy of Oxford Street. Blending technology, light and participation, this large-scale installation invites curiosity, connection and wonder.

Artist statement:

Luminous Passage is an interactive light installation shaped by movement, presence and encounter. As people pass through Taylor Square, their presence subtly alters a field of light, leaving temporary traces that gather, shift and dissolve.

Located beside Oxford Street, a place shaped by visibility, gathering, protest, celebration and everyday passage, the work responds to the rhythms of the street. Rather than demanding attention, it creates a quieter opening within the city: a space for pause, reflection and connection.

You can choose to receive an oracle: a short phrase that appears briefly within the field before dissolving back into motion. It doesn’t prescribe meaning but offers an open invitation to reflect.

Through light and interaction, Luminous Passage considers how we move through shared space, affect one another and become part of an environment continually changing.

Alana Fairchild is an author, teacher and spiritual healer whose creative practice explores inclusive spirituality, the divine feminine and spiritual freedom. Her body of work spans books, oracle decks, sacred music, meditation and teaching programs, offering accessible pathways for reflection, healing and authentic spiritual expression.
