Opening day family fundraiser screening of Disney’s The Lion King with the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace donating all profits to OIC Cambodia, an organisation that aims to grow speech therapy in Cambodia.
In Cambodia, it is estimated that 600,000 people, around 1 in 25 need speech therapy, and yet there is not one single Cambodian speech therapist in the country. Services to help are nearly non-existent.
This means that hundreds and thousands of children can’t communicate with friends or family, go to school, or have potential jobs. An equal number, due to muscle weakness, cannot swallow safely meaning food and liquid can enter their lungs, endangering their lives.
OIC’s goal is to establish sustainable speech therapy services in Cambodia that will improve the lives of children, families and communities, and in many cases save lives.
Please join us this school holidays for this special family screening of the Lion King, and help us to raise funds to improve the lives of over half a million people without a voice.

The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
