Library superheroes

Family fun day

We welcome children’s author Tim Harris to the State Library as part of our family program, Superheroes Sunday. Tim’s talk is guaranteed to have you in stitches as he shares tales from his works Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables and Exploding Endings. There will be quizzes, video, stories, readings and general wackiness. Tim’s presentations are highly engaging – be prepared to laugh a lot!

Join us for Tim’s talk from 11am to 12 noon. Stick around to enjoy a range of fun craft activities and library tours with superheroes as a theme. Find out all about David Scott Mitchell and why he is a library superhero. Borrow one of our capes to wear while you explore the library and discover your own super powers. Activities run from 11am to 2pm.

Tim Harris is one of the most exciting children’s authors in Australia. His first series of books, Exploding Endings, will have primary-aged readers both captivated and laughing out loud. The first book in the series, Painted Dogs & Doom Cakes, was awarded Honour Book at the 2017 KOALAs. His second series, Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables, contains his trademark quirkiness, mixed with a touch of poignancy. The lead book was awarded a CBCA Notable in 2018 and has been shortlisted for the 2018 REAL Awards, as voted by children in NSW, VIC and NT.

Sunday 24 June 2018 from 11am to 2pm
