Naive Australia is an exhibition of works on paper of coastal/regional NSW and Victoria.
The fisherman heads out to the edge of the estuary in the early pre-dawn light, bent and stiff, still not fully woken he joins the Boardwalk walkway which winds itself out one and a half kilometres over the estuary to the far end of Hungry Head Beach. Here the fisherman hopes to encounter some gutter running Australian salmon, with one of his metal bait-profile lures.
At the beach he notices two large sea eagles soaring in the air current above, looking for bait schools in the surf. Out in front between the surging waves, cresting white-capped, there are Terns running up and down channels, looking for any signs of bust-ups from feeding fish below. Many casts ensue but the fisherman returns crestfallen without his quarry.
Justin Adams has previously exhibited at 107 Projects Gallery, Delmar Gallery and Tek Minimal Gallery.
