JS Bach's St Matthew Passion

Experience the most moving work of Bach, played on a period orchestra

Dr David Hill MBE conducts the National Youth Choir of Australia, the RSCM Festival Choir, the RSCM Children’s Choir and Australia’s greatest soloists in an English-language performance of the revered masterpiece, alongside a period double orchestra consisting of Australia’s finest early-music instrumentalists.

Join us for Bach’s grand drama of worship. Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion stands as one of the pillars of Western sacred music, at once monumental and intimate, yet also deeply sorrowful and powerful.

David Hill is the International Chair of Choral Conducting at the RNCM – Royal Northern College of Music, the Music Director of London’s The Bach Choir and Yale Schola Cantorum, and the former Director of Music at the BBC Singers, St John’s College, Cambridge and Westminster Cathedral.
