Joseph Jurra Tjapaljtarri is an important second generation artist from Papunya Tula Artists.

Born around 1952, he spent his latter adult life in Kiwirrkurra, an isolated township in the Simpson Desert in Western Australia. His sinuous dotted lines in these paintings depict the underground roots of edible tubers in the desert.
