Join us at Dendy Newtown in May as we celebrate the legendary French mime, filmmaker, actor and screenwriter, Jacques Tati.
Though he made only a handful of films, Tati ranks among the most beloved of all cinematic geniuses. With a background in music hall and mime performance, Tati steadily built an ever-more-ambitious movie career that ultimately raised sight-gag comedy to the level of high art.
Tati only made six feature-length features in his career, but it’s a testament to his singular vision that he is ranked among the greatest auteurs with only a handful of pictures to his credit.
Don't miss this special retrospective honouring a master of French cinema with screenings of all six of Tati's films.
While Covid Safety plans are no longer mandatory by the NSW Government, Dendy Newtown still has a Covid Safety plan in place.
NSW Health have confirmed the current details for cinemas in the Greater Sydney area:
Cinemas are operating at 100% seating capacity with ticketed/allocated seating
Face masks are not mandatory for patrons inside our premises. However, we encourage the use of masks in settings where social distancing is not possible
To ensure a clean and safe environment for our guests, we're implementing these extra measures in our cinemas:
We have installed automatic hand sanitiser stations in our cinemas
We encourage our customers to use cashless payment options in all of our cinemas to reduce contact points. This includes using "tap & go" at the box office and candy bar, or booking online
We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting all high traffic areas and commonly touched surfaces throughout the day
