Discover new approaches to handbuilding in clay with a focus on making colourful ceramic sculptures using experimental techniques to push the boundaries of the form. Learn to work quickly with a range of techniques including stacking, joining, coiling and slabs, and how to recycle your offcuts to extend the possibilities of ways of working.
Karen Black encourages you to ’embrace your mistakes and failure to make interesting artworks’, leading to new possibilities in the way you think about clay as a sculptural form. You will utilise multiple firings and glazing to achieve surprising results and unexpected outcomes. Open to students of all levels of experience in ceramics.
