Introduction to Sculpture - 2 day Workshop

Guided by artist and teacher Richard Byrnes this workshop is a fun and accessible introduction to this fascinating medium . Over two consecutive Saturdays students will be introduced to two core skills of sculpture; modelling and carving.

Week 1  will see the student  guided through the techniques of modelling in clay. From provided source material students will model a human or animal form that will result in a resolved sculpture that will be fired at a later date.

Week 2 involves an introduction to Hebel carving . Advice and guidance will be provided in the ancient art of carving resulting in a resolved sculpture suitable for outdoor display.

• All tools and materials are provided and firing costs are included in the price.

• No previous experience required. Beginners welcome .
