Espresso martini lovers can rejoice, as Tia Maria has launched a pop-up bar at this year’s Moonlight Cinema, shaking up Australia’s unofficial national cocktail for movie buffs.
The exclusive container-style bar is dedicated to all things coffee cocktails, serving up delectable mixology including the Tia Espresso Martini, Tia Popcorn Frappe and Tia Coffee Tonic. Taking the snack bar to a whole new level, these cocktails are available all season.
With a star studded program featuring block buster films throughout March, such as On the Basis of Sex (8 March – International Women’s Day), Bohemian Rhapsody (9 March) and What Men Want (24 March), Moonlight Cinema is perfect for a night out with friends or date night. The full program can be viewed on the Moonlight Cinema website.
It’s no secret that Australians love their coffee cocktails. The Tia Maria Coffee Project revealed that Queenslanders demand the most espresso martinis on an average night out, drinking 43% of Australia’s total consumption of the cocktail, followed by NSW (22%), SA (13%) and VIC (13%). Furthermore, 1 in 3 consumers aged 22 to 34 said they would like to see more coffee houses serving alcohol (Mintel).
First invented in 1980 by Dick Bradsell, Tia Maria was actually the original coffee liquor included in the Espresso Martini. The Tia Maria bar is the perfect evening indulgence at Moonlight Cinema to compliment the 4.41 cups of coffee Sydneysiders average each day!
Tia Maria will also be serving up their signature cocktails at Moonlight Cinema in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth over the next month.
