Indigo O’Rourke’s hyper-realistic drawings take a critical view of the social, political and cultural issues impacting the lives of contemporary Australians.
Carefully rendered in biro, the ubiquitousness of her choice of material echoes the everyday human experiences explored in throughout her practice.
Originally studying Graphic Design at the University of Canberra, O’Rourke shifted her focus and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Arts in 2009.
She has since exhibited regularly with galleries throughout Australia. In 2018 Integument was exhibited in the windows of Myer’s Bourke Street Mall Melbourne store.
Having previously participated in the group exhibitions Draw the Line and Body Language with MAY SPACE and Brenda May Gallery, At the heart of all things will be O’Rourke’s first solo exhibition with May Space.
