Rosie White uses found objects and recycled materials to create sculptures using stitch. Having studied at The Arts Institute (Bournemouth), Curtin University (Perth) and most recently at UNSW Art & Design (Sydney) she holds a Bachelor Degree in Art and a Master of Art in Sculpture, Performance and Installation.
White is interested in topics such as the domestic, empathy, sexuality and memory. In Stitches brings together a curated selection of past and current textile work. The artist works in both traditional and non-traditional ways with materials and has experimented extensively to uncover the potential of things. Her love of stitch, not only as a method to join and patch but also as a decorative element, is pervasive throughout the exhibition.
Opening: Saturday 15 September 2018, 2pm to 5pm.
