Ilmapuu is an immersive installation.
In this work, Anna Jaaniste recreates her stories and impressions of lands in Estonia. Sculptures, sound and video bring physical form to her sensory and imaginative responses to land in Soomaa National Park, Estonia. A large constructed shelter, water bodies, soundscapes, recorded journal writings and other elements combine in the space to create a multi-sensory experience for audience members to enter and experience. This work is part of Anna’s research which explores interconnections between herself, her Estonian cultural heritage, and land in both Estonia and Sydney.
Opening event Saturday 11 August from 6pm to 8pm with a talk by the artist.
