Internationally renowned dancer Roymata Holmes explores gender-fluidity in a performance at the Sound Lounge at the Seymour Centre, Sydney.
Performed as a monologue with elements of contemporary dance, traditional Cook Island dance and Drag performance. The concept of this show has not been created by anyone in Australia and as far as i know, the world.
'I am King, I am Queen 2.0' brings to light sensitive and relevant topics the performer has experienced first-hand. *cultural disconnection, *systemic racism *internalised homophobia, *forced religious upbringings, *surviving sexual assault.
The show begins with the performer representing a strong male figure we all know and love from the Sports channel, throughout the show he weaves and threads his personal story leaving us on the edge of our seats wanting more as he introduces his Drag persona Miss MaRtoya. Suitable for ages 12 and over.
