Settle in for summer nights at the movies with the HBO Max Open Air Cinema at Darling Quarter. Across 11 evenings this January, the North Village Green comes alive with free screenings of family favourites, Hollywood hits and cult classics, all under the stars in the heart of Darling Harbour.

The season opens on Thursday, 8 January with a program that spans generations. Expect nostalgia-filled classics like The Wizard of Oz and Hairspray, family-friendly fun with Scoob! and Mummies, plus modern favourites including Crazy Rich Asians, Superman and the Fantastic Beasts collection.

Free unallocated seating is available, so bring your own rug or chair and get comfortable. For those wanting a little extra luxury, beanbags and picnic rugs are available from $12.90. Walk-ins are welcome, but capacity is limited, and entry will close once the space fills.

The event is dog-friendly, with well-behaved pups on leads welcome to join their humans.

To elevate the experience, 350 complimentary headsets are available each night for cinema-quality sound, with speakers across the green so everyone can enjoy the film.

Make a night of it with food and drinks from Darling Quarter’s dining precinct. A pop-up bar at Darling Pavilion will be serving drinks and classic movie popcorn. General ticket holders can Click & Collect from eateries including Dopa Donburi, Braza Churrascaria, Kürtősh and Gelatissimo, while reserved seating guests can order food straight to their seats via QR code.

Parking is easy, with a flat $21 evening rate available at Darling Quarter. General tickets are available from 9AM on Friday, 26 December.
