Join this free guided bicycle tour tracing Green Square’s waterways—past and present. Via Sydney's bicycle network, we’ll explore stories of former wetlands and creeks around Alexandria, Zetland, Waterloo and St Peters, and how they connect to today’s urban landscape and infrastructure, embracing this year’s World Water Day theme: Where Water Flows, Equality Grows.

These rides are also about connection—to place and to each other. Everybody is welcome, and we encourage riders to share their own water memories and local stories along the way.

Start location: High Water art installation, outside Green Square Library.

Guided rides are led by friendly ride leaders from Pedal Set Go for the City of Sydney.

You'll need:

  • Your own roadworthy bike and helmet

  • Water bottle and snacks

Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration & pre-ride briefing.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bookings required.

We encourage participants to complete the Cycling in the City course before joining a guided ride. The Cycling in the City course will equip you with the skills you need to ride in Sydney.
