Sunday 8 February from 9:15am to 11:15am
The lovely Glebe Foreshore is our starting point. Crisp air and spectacular waterfront views make this the perfect starting place for our two-wheeled adventure.
We begin exploring the shared paths while learning about rider etiquette before joining the bikeways and streets that connect the bicycle friendly network.
As we navigate, you'll experience the city's vibrant atmosphere. The urban scene will change as we leave the views of the newly developed fish markets and Anzac Bridge to experience colourful Darling Harbour and modern architecture.
The return journey is via the back streets of Ultimo, Glebe, The University of Sydney, and Forest Lodge, with the local ambience and hidden gems that make the area unique.
This guided ride is for people wanting to learn bicycle friendly routes to navigate their city. We ride at a leisurely pace, giving you time to see sights, take photos, and speak with the guides and other riders.
Riding is about building connections, not just the ride. Make friends, exchange stories, and learn how to plan your own journeys.
What you’ll need:
Your own bike and helmet (make sure your bike is roadworthy and your tyres are pumped)
Water bottle and snacks
Sunscreen
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the ride. Young children in appropriate child seat/trailer or children aged 12+ years are welcome on their own bikes (if used to riding).
We highly encourage participants to complete the City of Sydney Cycling in the City course before joining this ride, especially if you're new to riding or haven’t ridden in a while. The course will give you the skills needed for navigating Sydney’s streets confidently.
Guided rides are led by friendly ride leaders from Pedal Set Go for the City of Sydney.
