Tuesday 11 August from 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Foreign correspondent Deborah Cassrels joins us to peel back the tourist veneer of Bali and greater Indonesia in her new memoir Gods and Demons.

Along with experiences of Indonesia’s beauty and rich culture, Deborah will share insights into the country’s memorable events and current affairs, from the Bali Nine drug gang and the gruesome executions of their ringleaders, to stories of infamous terrorists and powerful tycoons. Deborah will also discuss Indonesia’s approach to managing the Covid-19 pandemic and its recent decision to reopen for domestic tourism.

This will be a virtual event via Zoom.
