In partnership with Mirik Milan (Global Night Mayor Advocate and Co Founder, VibeLab), EMC brings you the return of Global Cities After Dark. The forum is focused on global night time culture and economy.
The night is crucial to any city as a cultural and economic driver. Global Cities After Dark approaches nightlife from a holistic perspective, deeply exploring the pillars that are essential to supporting successful nightlife. These include creative industries being able to prosper and grow, music and art activating at night, transport and mobility, public health and safety, gastronomy, city planning and place making, legislation and regulatory process.
Global Cities After Dark 2018 is themed around collaboration. It is through collaboration locally, nationally and internationally that solutions are found and executed for a positive and vibrant future at night. In 2018 Global Cities After Dark extends its program over 1 day and one night, to include a welcome event and city tour. The forum presents keynotes from 5 international specialists from various fields in night time culture, a NightCamp group workshop hosted by the world’s most accomplished nightlife advocate, a keynote update from City of Sydney’s nightlife and creative advisory panel and 8 expert sessions deep diving into specialised aspects of night time culture.
Leading the forum is an in conversation between Lord Mayor Clover Moore and Global Cities After Dark host Mirik Milan. Joining Sydney’s Lord Mayor and Milan is Detroit’s Night Time Economy Ambassador Adrian Tonon, global female empowerment leader and diversity programmer Amanda Maxwell from Boiler Room and She Said So and the inspirational Creative Director and Co Founder of the internationally renowned pansexual party palace known as A Club Called Rhonda, Loren Granich.
