School Holidays - Glaze Galleria Kids Pottery Wheel Classes

Give your child a creative, hands-on experience they'll be proud of with our pottery wheel class for kids.

If your child is at least 140cm tall, they can try their hand at the pottery wheel in our ceramic studio nestled in Sydney Inner West's Drummoyne. Parents are welcome to book their own spot too, so you can enjoy the experience together.

What you'll do

Demonstration

• Our experienced ceramics instructor kicks things off with a wheel-throwing demo, showing the kids the techniques they'll need to centre and shape clay into bowls, cups or plant pots.

• Sit back and watch (or join in)

• Settle in and watch your child get hands-on at the wheel, or book your own spot and create alongside them for a shared experience.

Help at hand

With a maximum of 8 students per class, each child will get plenty of one-on-one guidance from our instructor so they feel confident and supported throughout.

The results

Kids can throw as many pieces as they like during the class to practise and develop their skills, then choose their favourite pieces to keep, with the class covering two pieces.

We finish the pottery for you

Once class wraps up, we trim, fire, glaze (their choice from our range of studio glazes) and fire the pieces again. Their finished, food-safe ceramics, microwave, dishwasher and oven safe, will be ready to collect in 4 to 5 weeks. Want to keep more than 2 pieces? Extra pieces can be finished for just $10 each.

Knowledge required

None at all. This class is an ideal introduction to pottery for newcomers of all ages and every child makes something to be proud of.

• Comfortable clothes your child doesn't mind getting a little clay on
