Wednesday 28 July 2021 from 5pm to 6pm
The Biennale of Sydney and Cicada Innovations in partnership with the British Council and UK Government's Science & Innovation Network are launching an Innovation Challenge aimed at discovering innovative and environmentally sustainable materials for the 23rd Biennale of Sydney exhibition.
To kick off the challenge, we'll discuss how art & cultural institutions can get creative on climate action. How are these institutions thinking about their practices? Whilst weaving sustainability into all disciplines is vital, Art as a medium has a dramatic power to influence the minds of citizens, policymakers, and innovators alike.
We'll also open the floor to any questions you may have about the challenge. Successful challenge applicants will have their products procured by the Biennale of Sydney and be featured as a participant at an exhibition with over a million online & in-person visitors.
Join us as we begin our search for innovators in Australia and the UK, featuring:
José Roca - Artistic Director, 23rd Biennale of Sydney
Graciela Melitsko Thornton - Creative Green Consultancy Programme lead, Julie's Bicycle
Sally-Ann Williams - CEO, Cicada Innovations
