The Gang of Five is a group of artists collectively exhibiting their body of work so far in Bowral, and now in Glebe, NSW.
Their aims and aspirations are varied but they all agree that their work must communicate with the public at large, hopefully making it more aware of the Australian environment, whether natural or political.
The Gang of Five express with paint and form that which cannot be said with words: that period of frightening clarity which must be recorded at any cost, the individual having full control during the process.
Most people experience moments that they feel compelled to record, whether in written word, musical composition, a camera or simply pigment on paper, or in sculpture.
The Gang of Five apply to canvas and to construction thoughts and ideas which they may have been preoccupied with for years, or fleeting moments of inspired visions which one feels compelled to record.
Covid-19 safe procedures operate at the gallery. We record names for contact tracing, supply hand sanitiser, disinfect our surfaces and have only 12 people in the gallery at a time, applying social distancing.
