Love flamenco? This radical, flamenco-based performance platform undermines expectations and ignores the rules. Experimental, raw and adventurous, it explores gender, politics, history, movement and sound and de-mystifies this traditional art.
Now in its third year and selected for Pride Amplified at Sydney WorldPride 2023, Salón Flamenco showcases performing artists from across Australia in an intimate salon for lovers of flamenco.
2023 artists are: Tomás Arroquero, Marduk Gault, Benedict Leslie, Lisa Maris McDonell, Paloma Negra and Annalouise Paul and more.
Workshops are for absolute beginners and include a creative lab for professional artists of all art forms.
Panel talks include Queer Flamenco and Flamenco Down Under with international and local guest speakers.
Salón Flamenco is curated and presented by Annalouise Paul Dance Theatre for Sydney WorldPride and supported by Eastside Sydney Oxtravaganza.
