This course allows you to gain confidence in measuring and fitting your own patterns!
You'll leave the class with a custom block to fit your body, which can be used to create your own dress, top and skirt patterns or check the fit of your sewing patterns, as well as gain lots of new skills for creating the perfect fit!
You'll receive a booklet with all the information you're learning in class, so you can carry on with confidence at home!
We'll be working on a dress pattern in this class that can be used for dresses, tops and skirts.
Level
Beginner level - however, we require that you know the basics of sewing construction and are confident completing a sewing project on your own.
You'll learn how to:
Take your own measurements
Decide which size to sew
Understand garment and design ease
Make pre-toile adjustments
Prep and sew a toile
Gain the confidence to properly fit toiles
Follow the order of fitting
Test fit adjustments on your toile
Make fit adjustments to your pattern
Discuss other common fit issues you have
Use your block pattern to check the fit of your sewing patterns
If there's time - learn to make changes to your block to create designs!
