City of Sydney Library Lunchtime Conversations is a fortnightly series of free online talks with authors, artists and experts.
In this first event, join Feldenkrais practitioner Shona Lee to learn how to relax your eyes using ideas from the Feldenkrais method.
If Covid-19 has increased your digital screen time you might have noticed some changes in your body or eyesight. Our eyes need variety in movement just as much as our body. The distance of your vision is also reduced when you’re indoors rather than out and about.
Find out how our eyes are linked to movement in this 1 hour presentation and discussion. Feldenkrais is a guided practice which develops awareness through movement habits. You’ll learn about the unique patterns and preferences in the directions you usually take your eyes and how to give them a good rest away from screens.
About Shona Lee
Shona is an experienced Feldenkrais practitioner and remedial massage therapist. She is passionate about people and the human body's inherent capacity for responding, adapting and changing. Shona works with people to help them better understand their own body, shift tension and find a new sense of ease in how they move, feel and function. Her clients include a variety of people from professional dancers to those with neurological conditions and everything in between.
This is a free event however bookings are essential. Please read your booking confirmation carefully for instructions on how to join the event on Zoom. You’ll need to install the free Zoom software on your own or computer or device to participate.
The guest speaker’s presentation will be followed by the opportunity to join smaller group discussions before a final Q&A session.
