In partnership with the University of Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music, The Women’s Club presents the Emerging Women in Music program which showcases 17 emerging musicians performing ten hours of music by Australian female composers across nine concerts.
Cassandra Doyle is a mezzo-soprano reading for a Bachelor of Music (Performance) on merit scholarship at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She studies with Dr. Rowena Cowley. A graduate of the Conservatorium High School and recipient of the Patricia Bell Grant, Cassandra has been a concert soloist at the Sydney Opera House for the NSW Arts Unit Festival of Music and a featured artist in the NSW Schools Spectacular. In 2019, Cassandra performed as a soloist with Sydney University Music Society for the Petit Messe Solennelle by Rossini. In 2021, she was a solo recitalist at St. James, King Street.
Jamie-Lee Xu is a talented young pianist, currently in her final year of the Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She was awarded the John and Dorothy Vimpani Pianoforte Fund scholarship on entry to the Conservatorium and has additionally been received the Molly Neale Memorial Award in 2020. She is currently studying with Dr Jeanell Carrigan, specialising in a collaborative piano major. Formerly, she has worked with James Muir, David Miller, Natalia Ricci and has had masterclass experience with Graham Johnson and Amir Farid.
