Activate your senses at Dream Feast, a communal dining experience where food, music, moving image and history come together in the historic and atmospheric surrounds of The Mint in Sydney for Vivid Food 2026.

In partnership with Museums of History NSW, Sydney-born, New York–based dining collective ARLO Communal bring their signature style to the city, creating a multi-course feast with paired drinks that places contemporary dining in conversation with history.

Inspiration comes from the Caroline Simpson Library Collection, a rich archive of Australian design and domestic life spanning more than two centuries. From stories of immigration to changing food trends, ARLO Communal’s menu reflects how we have eaten, gathered and entertained over time, and how those rituals continue to evolve.

As the evening unfolds, the dining room shifts and responds. Animated projections draw on patterns, textures and colour from the library collection, while a newly commissioned trip hop–inspired soundtrack is live mixed by Munasib, an Australian-born Bengali DJ, radio host and curator.

Dream Feast continues The Mint’s long tradition of transformation with this special dining experience.
