Gain new skills and meet other budding artists at this fun Tuesday night figure drawing class.
This class is designed for beginner to intermediate level students. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn or hone foundation drawing techniques in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
During the evening you’ll be introduced to the work of a range of historical and contemporary figure artists. You’ll learn about measurement, proportions and the skeletal structure and muscle masses of the human body.
With our experienced tutor, become familiar with good drawing processes and habits and how to really perceive the figure you want to draw. Get an introduction to the concepts of foreshortening and perspective, and learn how to capture form through line, tone, gesture and negative space.
Work in a range of drawing materials, including graphite, charcoal and pastels, to develop an understanding of your own style and drawing techniques. Full instruction is provided on materials, products, tools, equipment and studio procedures.
Class fee includes 4 model sessions. Strictly 18+.
Intimate class size: maximum 10 students

Tutor: Anney Bounpraseuth
Anney is an Australian-born artist of Laotian heritage, currently based in Sydney’s Inner West. She has been a practicing artist since 2001. Anney is also a passionate and experienced educator, who has worked in community arts education for 14 years. She creates kitsch, vivid and decorative painting and textile-based works that reinterpret the domestic, matriarchal, and spiritual traditions of her upbringing. Anney is currently a Master of Fine Arts candidate at UNSW Art & Design.
