Sydney-based artist, Dorryce Rock, will be exhibiting her latest series Floriade at Art2Muse Gallery. Floriade explores how different media can be used to express the delicate shape, form and contour of flowers.
In Floriade, Dorryce combines traditional oil painting with contemporary processes such as sculpting Perspex and pouring pigmented varnish. The same soft and organic flow is achieved across each work, even though the materiality of each differs. By using a variety of mediums, Dorryce can explore the transparency, luminosity, softness, rigidity and colour of flowers, continuing her ongoing fascination with how these characteristics occur in the natural world.
Dorryce’s palette ranges from matte pastels to glossy whites and golds, to bright and bold purples.
Dorryce Rock is a multi-disciplinary artist. A former events designer, Dorryce transitioned into painting in 2005. She has since exhibited around Australia and New York, and her works can be found across many high-end residential and commercial projects.
