Doig Collective

Lesser known original small ensemble music and even less regularly performed Australian 'hits'.

Doig Collective makes a return to Foundry616 after 2 years.

During this hiatus, leader and pianist Glenn Doig has been studying the music of some of his mentors/teachers from his university days. For this performance, the band will play the lesser known original small ensemble music and even less regularly performed ‘hits’ of 2 of Australia’s greatest jazz exports, Dale Barlow and Dave Panichi. These have been arranged by Doig for this slightly larger hard-hitting band of some of Sydney’s most exciting musicians. The tunes are derived from classic Australian jazz albums like “Wizards Of Oz”, “Blow”, “Playground”, “Manhattan After Hours”, “Blues For McCoy” and “Elvin’s Dream”.

Glenn Doig – Piano
Hannah James – Bass
Paul Derricott – Drums
Simon Ferenci – Trumpet
Alex Silver – Trombone
Andrew Crago – Alto sax
James Loughnan – Tenor Sax
Kali Gillen – Baritone sax
