Discover Pyrmont’s stories

Pyrmont is one of Sydney’s most distinctive historical landscapes. Once home to Tinker’s Well, the Griffin Destructor, Saunders’ quarries, the Colonial Sugar Refinery and the NSW Water Police, the peninsula has been blasted, built over, reclaimed and revitalised. Yet traces of its rich Aboriginal, industrial and natural history can still be found throughout the area.

The City of Sydney has mapped many of these historic sites and brought their stories to life through engaging oral histories in the Sydney Culture Walks app.

Before the walk, download the app at sydneyculturewalksapp.com and bring your smartphone and headphones to enjoy the multimedia experience.

Note: in case of rain, this walk will be cancelled.
