Disconnected by Luke Millanta

Disconnected is a one-of-one, dynamic, evolving NFT artwork that leverages United Nations datasets to track global internet connectivity rates. Disconnected will evolve over time, continuing to grow as more and more people are connected to the internet.

Based on current data, 37% of the world’s population (approximately 3 billion people) have never used the internet. Disconnected has been created not only to raise awareness of this fact but to allow the public to pause and reflect on the gift that is virtual connectivity. After years of separation due to Covid-19, it is the internet that kept many of us together. 

Disconnected was created by Luke Millanta, an artist, game designer and technology entrepreneur, and will be displayed in Martin Place from 4–6 July 2022.
