APY Art Centre
APY Gallery Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide are Indigenous, artist-owned galleries, exhibiting and celebrating the work of early-career Indigenous artists from South Australian art centres. Yes, SA, my hometown...
Open since 2006, Gallery 9 presents a dynamic program of exhibitions by its represented and associated artists. The gallery’s program is unique for its placement of exhibitions by established artists alongside exhibitions by emerging and non-represented artists, from Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
It is committed to nurturing the practices of its artists over the long term, encouraging experimentation and artistic development in any direction.
Liverpool Street Gallery
Established in September 2003 by the Gallery Director, James Erskine, is located in East Sydney. The commercial gallery, by the architect George Hatzisavas, provides intimate exhibition space and a focused environment.
The National Art School
In 2022 NAS celebrates 100 years of teaching art at this location, but its history dates back to 1843 when regular art classes were held by John Skinner Prout at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts in Pitt Street, Sydney.
