Join Heather from Dark Tales as she brings to life some of the most notorious characters, crimes and scandals to haunt the streets around Newtown, Enmore and the wider Inner West.

Hear the chilling story of the Newtown Poisoner, who turned an ordinary cup of Bonox into a murder weapon; enter the violent underworld of Sydney gangsters Lenny McPherson and Chow Hayes; and discover the story behind the Mafia-linked murders of King Street. There’ll be gangsters, poisoners, standover men, unsolved mysteries and plenty more tales from an Inner West that was sometimes far less respectable than it appeared.

Providing the soundtrack to the afternoon is DJ Dave, digging into his vinyl collection for music from the 1920s through to the 1950s — jazz, swing, blues, rock ’n’ roll and forgotten gems that evoke the eras behind the stories.
