Dance Therapy is a queer dance class in Sydney that uses music and movement to regulate your nervous system, shift your mood and connect you with community. This June we're celebrating two years of queer joy in Darlinghurst with a Y2Gay 2nd Birthday Pride Party at Universal Sydney on Oxford Street.
No dance experience needed. No performance pressure. No alcohol. Just two hours of joy, themed music, prizes, surprises and a room full of Sydney queers fully committed to the bit on a Saturday afternoon in Pride Month.
Dance Therapy turns two this Pride month, and we're marking it the best way we know how: two hours of movement, themed music, surprises, prizes, and the kind of Saturday afternoon Pride party that leaves you feeling genuinely good.
This is a Pride event for people who want to celebrate without the recovery day. The session starts at 4:30pm and you've still got the whole evening ahead of you. Or you can go straight home, glowing, with your beauty sleep intact. Either way, you win.
Dance Therapy is a beginner-friendly, queer inclusive dance class in Sydney held upstairs at Universal Sydney in Darlinghurst. No dance experience needed. No performance pressure. Just movement, community, and music chosen for this exact moment.
What's in the birthday session:
Themed music across the full two hours
Prizes and surprises throughout
The usual: guided movement, confidence-building strut, easy-to-follow routines
Time to celebrate and connect after
Dance Therapy was created by Tribe Wellness, a PACFA-registered counselling and psychotherapy practice, for LGBTQ+ adults and allies who want to feel connected without the cost to their body or their wallet the next morning.
Two years of this community. Come be part of the joy.
