Sunday 8 May 2022 from 9am to 12pm
Instead of spoiling your mum with breakfast in bed this Mother’s Day, start her special day at Damulay Ngurang, a free First Nation’s Mother’s Day breakfast celebration at Sea Wall Lawn in Barangaroo Reserve.
Damulay Ngurang means friendship place in local Sydney language and that’s exactly what this event is all about. Building friendship and connection through appreciation and celebration of mothers, parents and caregivers via a fun morning of dance, ceremony and craft that includes:
a welcome smoking ceremony,
interactive Aboriginal dance performances,
weaving workshops,
native flora crown making workshops; and
storytelling sessions.
Walkabout Coffee Van will also be offering an extensive free menu of Indigenous inspired dishes for the first 450 attendees to enjoy. Make sure you get in early so you don’t miss out on sampling tasty morsels such as:
Lemon myrtle & bush honey cupcakes,
Wattle seed & south eastern orange shortbread,
Bush Dukkah Pumpkin soup; and
Crocodile sausage rolls.
