Concert: Hetty Kate reimagines British New Wave

Rediscover anthems of the British New Wave movement through the language of jazz. Paris-based vocalist Hetty Kate leads a quartet of celebrated Australian instrumentalists, Karl Dunnicliffe, Ben Hauptmann and Hamish Stuart, as they present seminal music from Bronski Beat, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Police, XTC and more.
The quartet interprets the genre with adventurous improvisation, complex harmonies and virtuosity, while masterfully preserving the essence of the original songs. Vocalist Hetty Kate allows the lyrics to breathe, always supported, and sometimes challenged by the instrumentalists.
Doors open at 6pm. Until 7.30pm, you are welcome to buy light refreshments from the Members Lounge and pop-up bar.
