Comic Con-versation 2019

An evening of free panels and workshops in celebration of local comic culture.

Ashfield Library stays open late to celebrate the best of local comic culture.

You will hear from comic book artists, creators, illustrators, writers and publishers about collaboration, teamwork and the use of comics in education.

The Artists’ Alley runs throughout the afternoon. It’s a chance to see comic creators at work, have a chat to them and purchase their artwork.

Plus, you can view the Pieces Project exhibition, a one of a kind, collaborative comic-book project, presenting works of more than 200 international artists.

Timetable:

Comic Team, Assemble!
6pm to 6.45pm
This panel discusses how creatives can collaborate effectively.

Comics and Memoirs
6.15pm to 7.30pm
In this workshop, we’ll look at how comics can be used to tell stories. You’ll create a comic short based on life experiences.

A, B, Comics
5pm to 5.45pm
This panel of authors and teachers discusses how sequential art can help educate future generations.
