Bring your keen coders to our free 4 week coding series. They’ll gain confidence using the coding environment, MIT Scratch, and how to program the mBot robot.
MIT Scratch offers a fun introduction to block coding. It encourages creative thinking, systematic reasoning and collaboration. In this series, our young coders will develop a project using the mBot to bring their ideas to the next level.
The programmable electronic mBot robotic kit helps facilitate STEAM learning and the art of do-it-yourself robots. Enhance the robot’s abilities by experimenting with ultrasonic sensors to measure distances, a black line follower, light sensor, LED matrix and mini-speakers to make music.
These hands-on workshops run for 1 hour each week and are suitable for 9 to 12 year olds. Some experience with Scratch programing is recommended.
Places are free, however, you must book in and attend for all 4 sessions. The workshops have a capacity of 8, so bookings are recommended. Everything is provided, and parents or guardians need to stay in the library during Code Club.
