We’ve put together some fantastic activity kits you can collect from our Green Square and Darling Square libraries and make at home.
The free kits are designed to help kids build digital and making skills. Each kit contains a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) related project with easy-to-follow instructions to complete at your own pace. Kids will have fun while being challenged to invent, problem solve and tinker.
Suitable for children 8 years and older, there are 3 activity kits to choose from and they are also yours to keep. Each kit includes all the materials you need for the project, an instruction sheet and a link to a YouTube video to provide additional help if you need it.
As a limited number of kits are available, there is a maximum of one per family. You don’t need to be a library member to reserve a kit, however they are available on a first come first serve basis.
Only available from Monday 28 September to Friday 9 October 2020
Scribble bot – create a robot using a vibrating motor that colours on its own.
Robotic cardboard hand – Make a simple robotic hand from cardboard that you can use to pick up things out of reach.
Scribble bot – create a robot using a vibrating motor that colours on its own.

All materials used to create these activity kits have been sourced from existing supplies we had on-hand in our library branches. The materials are yours to keep to be reused or recycled when you are finished with the project.
