City Art Walking Tour and Art-Making Workshop: City Centre

Experience Sydney’s unforgettable public artworks with a short walking tour through Sydney’s city centre, followed by an art-making workshop at Customs House Library.

Guided by local Sydney artists, you’ll gain insider knowledge into new and significant public artworks and create an amazing text-based artwork of your own.

City Art invites families, art enthusiasts and beginners to this free event, made possible with funding by the NSW Government’s ‘The Festival of Place’ initiative.

The tour begins at Abercrombie Lane, Sydney (off George street) and concludes with a workshop at Customs House Library in Circular Quay.

Who can attend?

This program is open to all people (including children 8 years and older, who must bring with them an enthusiastic adult to collaborate with).

Wet Weather:

This program is partially held outdoors and subject to weather conditions. Please bring wet weather gear in the instance of rain.

If you or someone you have booked a ticket for is no longer able to attend this event, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite, allowing others to join.

  • To ensure everyone’s safety each person attending must have a ticket and only those who have booked a ticket will be allowed at this event

  • If you have booked a ticket and you are unwell on the day of the tour, please do not attend, get tested and isolate, as required

  • Participants are required to follow physical distancing guidelines during this event

  • Participants will need to check into the event with a Service NSW QR code provided on the day

  • Hand sanitiser will be available during this event. It is recommended that you thoroughly wash and sanitise your hands before attending and throughout the program, as required

  • Please check NSW Health for the latest information about wearing a face mask on public transport and during outdoor events. Your tour guide may provide you with a face mask and request you to wear it during this event.
