With plenty of drumming, flamboyance and skill, the City of Sydney’s lion dancing troupes will ring in the Lunar New Year celebrations to Sydney’s Chinatown.

An integral part of City of Sydney’s Lunar New Year Festival, the Lion Dance is a Chinese tradition stretching back over 1,000 years and has featured in our celebrations since they began 23 years ago.

Catch a lion dance performance at the corner of Thomas St/Ultimo Road every Friday, and Sunday or at Dixon St Mall every Saturday during the Festival.

2 performances per night, at 6pm and 6.30pm. Each performance is 10 minutes.
