Clay is a fascinating material. A lump on a spinning wheel formed by your own hands can become a useful and beautiful work of art.
Ceramics is a sensual, messy and satisfying experience. Our expert ceramist will help you to build your skills so that you can construct symmetrical ceramic forms at the wheel and more organic forms by hand.
Throughout this comprehensive 4-week intermediate course, you’ll continue to create functional and decorative objects like bowls and pots, that are a pleasure to hold, look at and use. Expand your knowledge and expertise of hand building and throwing, pressing and coiling as well as how to apply slips, glazes, and other surface treatments to make your pieces look more polished and professional.
Full instruction is provided and continually updated on best materials, products, tools, equipment and studio procedures.
Please note: Any large pieces must be kept within 25cm cubed. No works made off-site/outside class will be fired.
Intimate class size: maximum 10 students.
Level: designed for intermediate level students.
Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes.
Bring: please bring your own apron and towel.
Exhausted clay is reclaimed and recycled for reuse in our classes.
