Capturing Nature after hours

View the photography exhibition with demonstrations from renowned photographers

With a drink in hand, enjoy exploring Capturing Nature – the Australian Museum’s exhibition of some of the country’s earliest natural history photographs, printed for the first time from glass plates stored in the Museum archives.

Join early photography specialist Adrian Cook for a demonstration of the original technique used by Gerard Krefft and Henry Barnes in the creation of the exhibited images – the wet plate collodion process.

Then proceed to the Hallstrom Theatre for presentations by Capturing Nature curator Vanessa Finney, artist Dr Erica Seccombe, documentary photographer Dean Sewell and Adrian Cook as they respond to the exhibition’s images.
