BYO Project Digital Class is a bring your own project class that encourages you to be creative and push your DIY limits into the digital age. With a focus on digital fabrication techniques this class will focus more on using computer routers ,3D printers and design software. You don’t need to be a Master wood worker or craftsman to make a stunning piece, digital fabrication is all about informed and clever design solutions. From furniture and furnishing to figurines and much more this is the class to start your dive into digital fabrication.
Over 5 or 10 weeks in a small group of 4, the teacher will support you as you progress through your self-directed project/s at your own pace. You’ll learn essential woodworking/Computer skills, new techniques, get inducted on the machinery.
Total beginners – Are welcome, just know that skills and techniques take time to develop and you may need more time than others to get your head around it. One on one lesson maybe a better starting point.
Is this for you? Project Classes are intended for people who want a bit of support to realise more ambitious projects, work efficiently, hit new goals, or simply be safer in the workshop.

Materials Bring materials, consumables (glue, screws, nails, sandpaper, masking tape etc.) and anything else you need to work on your project. Makerspace can recommend suppliers.
What do you need to bring? Your laptop, drawings/references and a can do attitude. Maybe a cheeky snack as well?
Student age MakerSpace is an 18+ facility, and our classes and facilities are designed for adults.
The reality is that MakerSpace is simply not set up to accommodate children. For further information please visit our FAQs.
Disabled access Unfortunately our new space cannot offer suitable wheelchair access. We are currently working on improving our facilities to make them accessible for all.
Parking We have very limited parking spaces on Gerald Street so if youu2019re driving here please allow time to look for parking on our street or nearby streets.
