Breaking Bread

Join Food Faith and Good Food Month Sydney to learn about bread

Bread is one of our first foods and continues to create memories as we ‘break bread’ together. FoodFaith’s diverse panel of experts includes Indigenous historian and author of Dark Emu, Bruce Pascoe, the well-known food writer, Helen Greenwood, social justice bakers, the Bread and Butter Project, which provides training and employment pathways for refugees and asylum seekers, and Laya Slavin, of Our Big Kitchen, a community run, non-denominational industrial kitchen where meals are prepared for distribution to needy people across Sydney.

Moderated by Deputy Mayor of the City of Sydney, Councillor Jess Miller, you will be taken on an international and fascinating afternoon of bread education. You’ll receive a bread tasting box to take home featuring five different types of ‘breads’ – including specially baked bread from native grains.

This event is part of the Sydney Friends of Good Food Month event series.
