Book launch: The Universal Within The Local 2023-2025

Poetry Sydney and the Australian Romanian Academy present the Universal within the Local, a bilingual literary arts event that celebrates Romania's National poet Mihai Eminescu.
The partnership has culminated in a book that celebrates culture, community and the arts, 2023-2025. Published by the Australian Romanian Academy (ACA), and edited by Daniel Ionita, President ACA, academic, translator and curatorial advisor of the program.
The collection incorporates new work created in response to annual themes over the three years, and includes poetry and essays from contributors in Australia and Romania with translations in English and Romanian.
The book will be launched on the afternoon of Valentine's Day, and a number of participatants will perform work from the anthology. The collection will be available for a limited first edition print run.
Poetry Sydney acknowledges First Nations peoples as the sovereign custodians of Country, and pay respect to Elders of past, present and to future generations. We value the distinct culture, customs and practices present in the many and diverse tribal nations across Australia.
