Bobby Alu

An intimate gig in Sydney Art Gallery

Australian/Samoan artist Bobby Alu will weave his Polynesian heritage through an intimate concert of catchy, harmonious tropical rhythms.

Currently on a US tour with Xavier Rudd, Alu has been labelled one of Australia’s great percussionists, and has been drumming for Xavier Rudd for 5 years. With multi-instrumentalists Declan Kelly and Paulie Bromley, this is an all-star line up set to move people with a unique sound of tropical indie that features Samoan log drums, ukuleles and vocal harmonies.

“His chilled out Pacific tunes have a long-lasting feel good effect and his finely crafted songs have instant appeal” – ABC Radio Australia.

Peach Black Gallery, less than a year old, has already held several sell out performances from some of Australia’s finest musicians. This performance designed for people to drop in on the way home from work, soak up some sunshine vibes, music, art (and wine) before heading for dinner in the area.
