Bhangra is a traditional dance of Punjabi’s originating from northern India. It’s a dance formed from the body and soul that will get you sweating and will leave you smiling from the inside out! The workshop teacher, Uppma, was born in Punjab and grew up in Melbourne. Her mother was known as the Indian dancing queen, teaching Uppma all about the different Punjabi dance techniques. Uppma will teach you a Bhangra routine as well as sharing with you the meaning and origins of Bhangra dance form and their steps. Workshop tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite or at the class.
During this class, we’ll go through a simple bhangra dance choreography that we’ll continue to build on.
